Christmas Tree Hunting

This was our 8th year Christmas tree "hunting" and probably one of our best years yet. We have enjoyed sharing this tradition with family and friends year after year and start planning the trip around October. Many memories have been made over the years and I can't wait to make so many more.
This picture was taken from the truck while we were driving and doesn't do any justice to the amazing view we had of the fog in the valley. The fog cloud made it appear as if nothing else existed. It was stunning!
Leah and I prepared lunch for our group of 14. The traditional lunch menu consists of soup, sandwiches, Christmas cookies, and the all important hot chocolate...it's a must!

Just the girls.

Once Landon got over his car sickness, he had a great time. He's getting to big.

Taking a snack break on a log near the warm fire. It was pretty cold the first part of the day so the kiddos stayed bundled for most of the morning.

Claire rode on Daddy's shoulders while we hunted for the perfect Christmas tree.

Here it is...our Christmas tree! Tim and I are both rather picky when it comes to choosing just the right tree and as a result, we are usually the last family to find their tree. This year was no different, we did a lot of hiking to find this beauty.

If you look hard enough, you can see a little boy behind that tree! Landon and Claire both have Christmas trees in their bedrooms and Landon wanted to get a tree for Bethany. He picked this tree out and cut it down all by himself.

Just me and the kiddos. They were so adorable in their little hats. Priceless!

We always finish the day with a trip to Round Table. This year Santa made a surprise visit and Landon couldn't keep his eyes off of him. He wanted so badly to go sit on his lap and tell him what he wanted for Christmas but he just couldn't bring himself to do it. So finally Santa came to him and Daddy told Santa what Landon wants for Christmas.

Thanks for a great year Harris, Fitch, and Gledhill families!
Merry Christmas!

Looks like a fun and very, very cold day. Thank you so much for "Bef-f's" christmas tree. She can't wait for her daddy to come home tom.(oh, I guess tom. is already here..oops!)morning so he can help her put it up. We will let you know when it is all decorated so you can come see it. Hello Wartas! Merry Christmas. I saw this activity on Leah's blog - and again, what a great tradition to have. And nothing beats the smell of a fresh cut Christmas tree...yum!
